ACCT Operation Accreditation

ACCT Operation Accreditation

ACCT started to offer Operation Accreditation in 2019. Operation Accreditation is a review process administered by ACCT recognizing challenge courses, aerial adventure/trekking parks, zip lines, and canopy tour sites (referred to as courses) that meet the procedural and standard compliance requirements established by ACCT. The accreditation is conferred on one site which has demonstrated compliance with the ACCT Standards through inspection, training documentation, and a detailed onsite operation review. Organizations having multiple sites will require a separate review process for each location.

The purpose of Operation Accreditation is to identify challenge courses, aerial adventure/trekking park courses, zip line, and canopy tour organizations that serve the general public through a commitment to quality, professional conduct/business practices, and ongoing use and adherence to industry standards. Organizations will be required to demonstrate compliance with all accreditation requirements and in compliance with the current ANSI/ACCT standards.
To know more about Operation Accreditation:

In Singapore, we were engaged by Ministry of Education (MOE) to review their Challenge Course Operation in their four Outdoor and Adventure Learning Centres (OALCs) in 2021. In the long run, MOE would require:

  • Schools to use challenge course sites that been ACCT Operation Accredited to ensure that the site operation meets the ACCT Operation Standards.
  • Practitioners conducting challenge course activities outside of MOE OALCs must be ACCT Certified.

In 2023, Blackbox Outdoor Education was formed to take on all Challenge Ropes Course (CRC) and ACCT related work from Pivotal Learning. This will allow Pivotal Learning to focus on educator training and Blackbox OE to be able to cater specifically to CRC practitioners. To find out more, check out
